Looking Back. Moving Forward. 2025
And as I do, I like to take a moment to stand back and reflect on what the last year held and paved to the year ahead …
MOVING FORWARD. LOOKING BACK.
RBT | Artist-Me
In a world where music seems to move at breakneck speed in a harried pace of here-today-gone-tomorrow, I'm happy that my songs and I are taking time / making time to find our way. This made possible in part by the DJ’s, Podcasters and Radio Stations who I'm fortunate to have sharing my music. To date we have released and promoted 6 singles from my “Sorry I’m Late” album - most recently releasing “One More Line”, co-written and performed with my cowriter North Easton.
As well, a 2024 highlight for my team and I was the esteemed honour of being nominated for a Cannes Film Award - Best Music Video for “Give Me One More Night”. And though we didn’t win, I must say that the fulfillment I gain through the great work I create with my talented team is truly a win for me.

It was also another inspiring year of working with Artists who I am always excited to spend time with. Some projects will come to fruition in 2025, and some that found their light in 2024 were -
MARSHALL DANE
Marshall Dane with his country grit meets polished pop and a heart too large for just his sleeve. Our co-written, Deaf community-inspired single “No Need To Speak”, produced by Will Schollar, found its way to Billboard Canada #10 Top Cancon Downloads; YANGAROO DMDS #1 Top Country Downloads; Billboard Canada #7 Most Active Indies and onto the SiriusXM's Top of the Country. This was followed up with the “No Need To Speak - Acoustic Version" single and video. A year of possibilities and plans has had Marshall and I immersed in writing new songs together, and Marshall launching his new Live In Concert Theatre events.

ROBB TORRES (ROBBERY INC.)
With his laid-back California meets ‘Green Day’ meets ‘Rolling Stones’ swagger, Robb Torres released two of our co-written songs this year. Produced and performed by Robb with his band Robbery Inc. these singles followed up our previously released “Hero” and “Everything Is Alright". This time a tribute to love that outweighs the chaos of an apocalyptic ending with “Last Night Last Kiss”. Followed by “Lying to You” - a timely release that coincided with the US Presidential election.

JULIAN TAYLOR
It goes without saying that Julian Taylor so naturally wears his authenticity and perfectly delivers what’s in his heart. It’s a great pleasure to be part of Julian’s journey and his single “Pathways” - a song that was the outcome of three friends, Julian, Robert Priest and I, sitting in a room talking about the sides of life. The title track from Julian’s new “Pathways” album, the single features the lovely Allison Russell and was produced by Nashville-based Colin Linden.

SHANNON DOOKS
Like-hearted, like-minded, Shannon Dooks and I joke that we're each other's twin with ‘a few’ decades between us. This year we completed Shannon’s soon-to-release new album, which will be an exciting part of 2025. With three of our singles released to date, “Doubts”, “Do It Again” and “Better”, a conversation about Christmases past, family and remembering resulted in a song that shares what we both hold dear about the holidays. Performed by Shannon, produced by Will Schollar, our new song “O Christmas Tree (Here We Are)” has joined the heartwarming world of holiday music …

And as always, a huge shout-out to my strategic and creative team who step in, step up and take on my music to carefully steer it forward. It really does take a village and I'm ever-grateful for the generous-of-heart people in mine.

Find and fall into what fuels and inspires you.
I'm intrigued about what the new year holds. I love what I do, and so it continues …
Happy New Year! RBT
